KayTell Publishing is currently seeking freelance editors to join our dynamic team. As a small but growing publishing house, we offer a unique opportunity for individuals to contribute to the world of literature.

Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Edit and review submissions in your assigned genre, providing constructive feedback and suggestions.

• Collaborate with authors to refine and enhance the quality of their work.

• Ensure adherence to grammatical and stylistic standards.

 

Position Details:​

• Work Schedule: On an as-needed basis. The workload may not be consistent due to our small size.

• Payment: Paypal

• Compensation: Freelance position; compensation will be on a per-assignment basis.

    Due to our company's size, we are not able to provide competitive compensation and truly hope to give experience to anyone just starting out.

    • Poetry: $.01 per word (2500 max) with a $10 minimum payment.​

    • Fiction + Essay Writing: $.014 per word (2500 max) with a $15.00 minimum payment.

    • Nonfiction: $.016 per word (2500 max) with a $17.00 minimum payment.

 

Skills Required:

• Knowledge of the English language.

• Proficiency in reading and understanding English.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Attention to detail and thoroughness in editing.

• Ability to work collaboratively with authors.

• Familiarity with Google or Microsoft editing/review tools.

 

Preferred Background:

• No professional experience required; we welcome individuals looking to start their journey in the publishing world, but any level of experience is accepted.

• Applicants must be 18 years or older.

• High School diploma or higher.

 

Job Expectations:

• Deliver timely and constructive feedback to authors.

• Collaborate effectively with the editorial team.

• Maintain a high standard of editing quality.
